On-Campus Voters Make Their Voices Heard in Off-Year Election

The Mason community turned out to Merten Hall on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 to cast their ballots for Virginia’s next governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, and more during an off-year election.

Merten Hall is the home of Fairfax’s University Precinct, the local polling place for residential students and nearby residents.

According to the unofficial election results published by Fairfax County, 573 total votes were cast at the University Precinct, bringing overall voter turnout to 26.25%. In-person voting on Election Day accounted for 510 of those ballots in addition to 47 early votes and 16 mail-in votes.
