Engaged Campus & Community Citizens
RSVP to join educators, civic organizations, college students and county registrars on
Friday, April 19th, 2013 from 11 – 3 pm at George Mason University’s, Founders Hall in Arlington, VA.
The Campus Election Engagement Founder and author of Soul of a Citizen, Paul Loeb, will kick off the civic engagement conversation
by sharing the national momentum and funding opportunities for Fall 2013.
Dr. Marcus Messner from VCU, Kathryn Mangus, student Shane Smith and GMU’s Office of Student Media team will facilitate a dialogue on a social media strategy for an on-line electoral education campaign.
Dr. Karen Kennedy Schultz and her student team from Shenandoah University will train campuses on their successful implementation of the UVote Project, a peer-to-peer student voter registration model.
ASPiRE’s Nannette Bailey and Symone Simmons will support campuses who want to do Electoral Outreach in their neighboring communities based on the partnership VCU built with Richmond’s Mosby residents.
Hope you can join this state-wide civic conversation where faculty will also come together with county registrars to forge electoral educational initiatives.
